Platform

The platform follows the treaty's own life.

Seven working parts, one evidentiary spine. Like the document it serves, the tour is set out in articles.

Article I

Treaty authoring

The treaty enters the system as structured terms, not a PDF to be re-typed.

  • Quota share, surplus, coinsurance, ModCo and funds-withheld structures with their own term schemas
  • Cession rates, commission scales, limits, exclusions and special clauses captured as executable data
  • Versioned wordings with drafting status, review and approval steps
  • Terms drive everything downstream — settlement math reads the treaty, not a config file

Article II

Cession & technical accounts

Bordereaux come in; validated, structure-aware accounts come out.

  • Premium and claims bordereaux ingestion with data-quality checks on arrival
  • Net settlement computed by structure — each treaty type settles by its own arithmetic
  • Technical-account reconciliation: premium, claims, commission and expense components tie out
  • Every computed line keeps a reference to the rows and clauses it derives from

Article III

Claims & recoverables

From notification to recovery, with the aging visible.

  • Claims registered against treaty and cedent with status workflow
  • Recoverables tracked and aged by counterparty
  • Case reserves and IBNR carried distinctly, visible to the actuary and to finance
  • Large-loss review path with sign-off separation

Article IV

Capital & solvency

An economic-balance-sheet view the actuary can interrogate line by line.

  • Technical provisions presented as best-estimate liability plus risk margin
  • Capital coverage monitored as eligible capital over the required-capital measure
  • Scenario and sensitivity views for board and supervisory-dialogue preparation
  • Figures are oriented to the Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) framework and labelled illustrative in the demo — the derivation chain behind each is one click away

Article V

Close & reporting

A close that knows its owners, its order and its evidence.

  • Close calendar with tasks, owners, dependencies and sign-offs
  • GL journals generated from settled accounts, traceable back to source rows
  • Board-pack and disclosure-style reporting surfaces assembled from the same governed figures
  • IFRS 17-style presentation of reinsurance results in the demo dataset (illustrative)

Article VI

Governance, access & audit

Controls enforced by the system, so the evidence writes itself.

  • Role-based workspaces: each role sees the workspace its job needs, and only that
  • Segregation of duties in the workflow — maker–checker where money or terms move
  • Append-only audit trail with author, reason and timestamp on every override
  • Lineage from any reported figure down to journals, bordereau rows and treaty clauses

Article VII

The cedent portal

The counterparty works in the same system of record — not over email.

  • Cedents upload bordereaux and submissions through their own branded portal
  • Validation feedback returns to the cedent immediately, before accounts are struck
  • Shared claims and settlement visibility, scoped to the cedent's own treaties
  • Messaging and history kept with the records they concern

Walk it yourself.

The demo runs the fictional Meridian Re dataset end to end — demo credentials are issued for arranged evaluation sessions.
